We are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Lead who can secure new clients in our primary markets as well as new markets such as consumer products, aerospace, and government entities. The territory includes Colorado and the Greater Rocky Mountain region and expanding the company’s reach in Western states. You would be an ideal candidate for this role if you have sales and engineering experience and are looking for a new career path in business development.

CEPD has laboratories in Broomfield, Longmont, and Loveland Colorado. This position will report to our Longmont location.

Responsibilities:

Daily Sales Activities

  • Proactively seeks new clients via cold calling, email outreach, networking, other lead generating techniques;
  • Manages the sales process from prospecting to closing the deal;
  • Understands the engineering process including project specifications, engineering documents, code sets, prototypes, and project deliverables;
  • Responds to inbound website inquiries and RFQs, evaluating technical requirements, prospecting opportunities, and proposing creative solutions that match customer ;

Strategic Sales Activities

  • Coordinates with the engineering team to lead bid strategy meetings for large projects;
  • Applies technical knowledge for all products that are involved with the sales assignment;
  • Maintains detailed customer records and nurtures customer relationships with routine outreach and communication;
  • Provides after-sales support and communicates customer concerns with the engineering team;
  • Research potential markets for new and existing products and technology;
  • Prepares technical presentations with Engineering staff that explain complex products and technology to current and prospective clients;
  • Maintaining relationships with our 3rd party partners and fostering relationships with new partners;
  • Represents CEPD at industry trade shows, conferences, regional technical societies.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales and the sales process. 3+ years experience.
  • Clear understanding of the sales process and the ability to articulate that process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline. Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred, Software, Mechanical, Industrial, or Web are acceptable. Candidate must understand the engineering process and have the ability to communicate this process.
  • High technical aptitude and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Effective communicator both written and verbal.
  • Effective time managements skills.
  • Experience using a CRM tool.
  • Candidate must be located along or willing to relocate to the Colorado Front Range.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally. Expected 20% travel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
